Hazardous waste can be dropped off

The city De­part­ment of Streets in­vites the pub­lic to drop off house­hold haz­ard­ous waste on Thursday, Ju­ly 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the de­part­ment’s cen­ter at State Road and Ash­burn­er Street.

Ex­amples of waste that will be ac­cep­ted are oil-based paint, used oil, solvents, pesti­cides and car bat­ter­ies. Latex or wa­ter-based paint is not haz­ard­ous and can be placed in the reg­u­lar trash if the paint is dry.

No waste ma­ter­i­als gen­er­ated by a busi­ness will be ac­cep­ted.
