Man attacks woman on Tacony street

A wo­man’s screams scared off a would-be rap­ist on a Ta­cony Street last Wed­nes­day even­ing, ac­cord­ing to Phil­adelphia po­lice.

At about 7:30 p.m., the vic­tim was walk­ing south­bound on Tor­res­dale Av­en­ue be­fore turn­ing onto the 4600 block of Friend­ship St., where an un­known man knocked her to the ground and tried to re­move her pants, po­lice said. When the vic­tim screamed, the at­tack­er fled.

She de­scribed her as­sail­ant as black with a light com­plex­ion, in his early 40s, 6 feet tall with a me­di­um build. He has dark, close-cut hair and large lips. He wore jeans-shorts and a black T-shirt. Call 215-686-TIPS or text to PPD TIP to re­port in­form­a­tion. ••
