Credit card thief goes on shopping spree

Bensalem Township police are wondering if anyone in Philadelphia recognizes the man depicted in surveillance photos as he allegedly used a stolen credit card to go on a shopping spree on July 11.

The theft occurred at the Cracker Barrel restaurant, 3611 Horizon Blvd., not far from Neshaminy Mall, when an unidentified man swiped a wallet from a woman’s purse. Police didn’t say what time it occurred.

Later that day, surveillance cameras recorded a man while he shopped at stores in the city. Police said that the suspect stopped at a Home Depot on Rock Hill Drive in Bensalem, as well as a Dollar General in Philadelphia, among “various locations” in the city. He was described as black, in his 20s or 30s with eyeglasses and an Atlanta Braves cap. Call Detective John Monaghan at 215–633–3668 to report information. ••
