Credit card thief goes on shopping spree

Ben­s­alem Town­ship po­lice are won­der­ing if any­one in Phil­adelphia re­cog­nizes the man de­pic­ted in sur­veil­lance pho­tos as he al­legedly used a stolen cred­it card to go on a shop­ping spree on Ju­ly 11.

The theft oc­curred at the Crack­er Bar­rel res­taur­ant, 3611 Ho­ri­zon Blvd., not far from Ne­sham­iny Mall, when an uniden­ti­fied man swiped a wal­let from a wo­man’s purse. Po­lice didn’t say what time it oc­curred.

Later that day, sur­veil­lance cam­er­as re­cor­ded a man while he shopped at stores in the city. Po­lice said that the sus­pect stopped at a Home De­pot on Rock Hill Drive in Ben­s­alem, as well as a Dol­lar Gen­er­al in Phil­adelphia, among “vari­ous loc­a­tions” in the city. He was de­scribed as black, in his 20s or 30s with eye­glasses and an At­lanta Braves cap. Call De­tect­ive John Mon­aghan at 215-633-3668 to re­port in­form­a­tion. ••
