Two men rob Northwood store, assault worker

Police are looking for two men who robbed a Northwood store and assaulted an employee on June 25.

The two men entered the store on the 5300 block of Oxford Avenue at 8:40 p.m. and one took a soda to the counter. The other suddenly rushed forward, pointed a handgun at an employee and demanded money. When a second employee tried to stop the robbery, the gunman assaulted him, police said. One of the two men grabbed a jar that contained money and SEPTA tokens, put it in his backpack, pushed the second employee to the floor and fled.

The gunman is black, stands 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 160 pounds and was wearing a black baseball cap with “SOX” written on its front. The second man is black, about 20 years old and wore his hair in dreadlocks. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs between 175 and 185 pounds.
