Two stabbed at Holmesburg house party

A quar­rel over a girl­friend sparked stabbings at a Holmes­burg house party early Sunday that left a 21-year-old man and 18-year-old wo­man hos­pit­al­ized with knife wounds, po­lice said.

The al­leged at­tack­er sur­rendered to North­east De­tect­ives late Sunday, ac­cord­ing to Lt. Den­nis Rosen­baum, al­though po­lice have not re­leased the 23-year-old’s iden­tity. In­vest­ig­at­ors iden­ti­fied him with the help of wit­nesses to the ram­page.

The stabbings oc­curred at about 3:30 a.m. in­side a house on the 3500 block of Welsh Road. There was a party go­ing on there when someone called 911. Para­med­ics were first to ar­rive and found the in­jured man with a wound of the head and the in­jured wo­man with a wound to the right side of her ab­do­men. Both were taken to Aria Health-Tor­res­dale and lis­ted in stable con­di­tion.

The al­leged at­tack­er sur­rendered at the Har­bison Av­en­ue and Levick Street po­lice sta­tion and was charged with mul­tiple counts of ag­grav­ated as­sault, reck­less en­dan­ger­ment and pos­sess­ing an in­stru­ment of crime. ••
