Col­or guard to ap­pear at hockey game

The newly re­con­sti­t­uted Col­or Guard of the Cpl. John Loudensla­ger Amer­ic­an Le­gion Post 366 will take part in the open­ing ce­re­mony at the Wells Fargo Cen­ter when the Ad­iron­dack Phantoms ice hockey team makes its re­turn to Philly to face the Her­shey Bears on Sat­urday, Feb. 1. Face off is at 1 p.m.

In con­junc­tion with the game, Post 366 has or­gan­ized a group trip to the Wells Fargo Cen­ter. The cost is $18 for adults and $12 for kids 12 and un­der and in­cludes game tick­ets in Sec­tion 108. Round trip bus trans­port­a­tion may be in­cluded de­pend­ing on the level of in­terest.

After the game, hockey fans are wel­come to vis­it Post 366 at 7976 Ox­ford Ave. and watch the Fly­ers take on the L.A. Kings. The post will of­fer food and drink spe­cials.

Skin art con­ven­tion set for Fri­day

The 16th an­nu­al Phil­adelphia Tat­too Arts Con­ven­tion will take place this week­end at the Pennsylvania Con­ven­tion Cen­ter, at 1101 Arch St.

The con­ven­tion hours will be 2 p.m. to mid­night on Fri­day, 11 a.m. to mid­night on Sat­urday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Ad­mis­sion is $22 per day, or $45 for the week­end. Chil­dren un­der 12 will be ad­mit­ted free.

The event will fea­ture 800 tat­too artists, tat­too con­tests and ap­pear­ances from the stars of tat­too shows on tele­vi­sion. ••

Look­ing home to his­tory

Pennypack­er Mills, at 5 Hal­de­man Road in Schwenks­ville, Mont­gomery County, will host a free pro­gram on Sunday af­ter­noon to help people en­hance the his­tor­ic­al ele­ments in their houses.

The event will run from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Par­ti­cipants will learn how to dec­or­ate homes to com­ple­ment their ar­chi­tec­tur­al style. Re­fresh­ments will be served.
