Police release video of NoLibs murder suspects

Re­ward offered for in­form­a­tion lead­ing to ar­rest.

The Phil­adelphia Po­lice De­part­ment’s Hom­icide Unit asked today for the pub­lic’s help in identi­fy­ing the men who shot and killed 26-year-old Am­ber Long in a rob­bery in North­ern Liber­ties Sunday night.

Po­lice re­leased a sur­veil­lance video that shows two men in hooded sweat­shirts ap­proach­ing Long and her moth­er and grabbing their purses at 10:35 p.m. Sunday on the 900 block of N. Front Street. When one of the men grabbed Long’s purse, he fired one fatal shot in­to her chest, po­lice said.

The men were last seen flee­ing north on Front Street in a new­er, dark-colored, pos­sibly four-door Chev­ro­let Im­pala, ac­cord­ing to po­lice. The video com­pil­a­tion also shows foot­age of the sus­pects’ car.

Long, of the 1700 block of Rit­ner Street in South Phil­adelphia, was pro­nounced dead at Hahne­mann Uni­versity Hos­pit­al.

The city is of­fer­ing a $20,000 re­ward and po­lice are of­fer­ing a $10,000 re­ward for in­form­a­tion lead­ing to the ar­rest and con­vic­tion of the sus­pects, ac­cord­ing to a press re­lease.
