Stabbing on Christmas Day

Christ­mas Day turned bloody for an Up­per Holmes­burg man after he was stabbed nu­mer­ous times near his home.

The 28-year-old vic­tim re­mained hos­pit­al­ized at Aria Health’s Tor­res­dale Cam­pus in crit­ic­al con­di­tion on Thursday fol­low­ing sur­gery to re­pair wounds of the neck, chest and back, po­lice said.

Po­lice were called to the vic­tim’s apart­ment on the 8800 block of Cot­tage St. at 4:27 p.m. Wed­nes­day. The in­jured vic­tim re­por­ted that he had been on the 4300 block of Megar­gee St. when a man stabbed him re­peatedly. He then ran home and called 911.

De­tect­ives were un­able to con­duct a full in­ter­view with the vic­tim be­cause of his med­ic­al con­di­tion. He de­scribed the at­tack­er as a black man, about 30 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 165 pounds, with a Sunni-style beard and short hair.
