St. Cecilia students awarded scholarships

Making the grade: St. Cecilia Elementary School eighth-graders Mary Grace Meredith (center) and Richard Nguyen (right) have earned Neumann Scholarships, entitling them to full four-year scholarships to the archdiocesan high school of their choice. Mary Grace will attend Archbishop Ryan. Richard will enroll at Roman Catholic.
Josephine Mandeville (left), president of the Connelly Foundation, recently visited St. Cecilia to award the scholarships. About 900 students throughout the Archdiocese of Philadelphia competed for the scholarships. Mary Grace and Richard are among 35 students who achieved scholarships. The Connelly Foundation initiated the scholarship in 1995. Mary Grace and Richard join a group of 32 Neumann Scholars from St. Cecilia over the years.
