Whitney was emaciated when she came to Philadelphia’s Animal Care and Control, at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave.. She was just skin and bones.

The dog has come a long way. She has learned to love and trust, and is eating well. Her tag number is A23868835.

Whitney is extremely affectionate, and really adores children. She prefers to be the only animal in a home. She knows many commands.

Adoption hours are weekdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ••

Come take Cole home with you

Cole is a very sweet, affectionate kitten who loves to chase toys, wrestle with his housemates and sleep on laps. He was rescued with his siblings at 2 weeks old when they were orphaned and found by campers. He is in the care of Northeast Animal Rescue.

Raised on a bottle until he was big enough to eat on his own, Cole has grown into a healthy 5-month-old kitten who loves everyone he meets.

Cole is neutered and current on vaccinations, and has tested negative for the feline immunodeficiency and leukemia viruses.
