Men steal change from car wash machines

Two men in a duty-sized pick-up truck with “du­ally” wheels bus­ted open the change boxes on nu­mer­ous va­cu­um clean­er ma­chines at a do-it-your­self May­fair car wash on Ju­ly 19, po­lice said.

Sur­veil­lance cam­er­as re­cor­ded video of the thieves as they ar­rived at Great Bear Car Wash, 6500 Har­bison Ave., at about 5 a.m., pulled in­to a ser­vice bay and broke in­to sev­en of the vend­ing ma­chines. They fled with an un­known amount of money.

The thieves were op­er­at­ing a large pick-up truck, pos­sibly a 3500 mod­el, man­u­fac­turer un­known, col­or un­known, with a full crew cab, miss­ing tail­gate door and roof lights. The driver was de­scribed as black, heavy set, with a white T-shirt and shorts. The pas­sen­ger was de­scribed as black, with a me­di­um build, a dark T-shirt and shorts.
