Saladworks to sponsor Komen race

Salad­works will be the fin­ish line spon­sor for the Susan G. Ko­men Phil­adelphia Race for the Cure, tak­ing place on Moth­er’s Day, May 11, in Cen­ter City.

The Ko­men Phil­adelphia Race for the Cure, en­ter­ing its 24th year, will have about 35,000 re­gistered par­ti­cipants and 100,000 over­all race-go­ers.

Salad­works’ spon­sor­ship will go to fund the fin­ish line, vari­ous speak­ing en­gage­ments and smal­ler event fea­tures such as the Kids Dash and Race-Day Sur­viv­ors & Spon­sors Break­fast, held on the day of the race.

“We are in­cred­ibly ex­cited to sup­port Ko­men Phil­adelphia’s Race for the Cure, an event that has touched the lives of so many people over the years,” said Paul Steck, pres­id­ent of Salad­works. “This is a tre­mend­ous op­por­tun­ity for us to give back to the com­munity that has sup­por­ted us and al­lowed us to grow in­to the house­hold name we have be­come.”

In pre­vi­ous years, the Race has raised an av­er­age of $3.2 mil­lion to sup­port breast can­cer edu­ca­tion, aware­ness, early de­tec­tion, treat­ment and sur­viv­or sup­port pro­grams in Ko­men Phil­adelphia’s ser­vice area, as well as re­search.
