Burholme community group sponsors children’s contest

The Burholme Com­munity Town Watch and Civic As­so­ci­ation is spon­sor­ing a writ­ing and draw­ing con­test for chil­dren in kinder­garten through eighth grades.

Chil­dren are in­vited to con­vey what they like about Burholme. Pos­sible angles in­clude play areas, school, din­ing and sports.

A para­graph and pic­ture should be in­cluded on an 8½-by-11-inch piece of pa­per. Entrants can use cray­ons, paints, mark­ers, pens, pen­cils and cut pa­per.

The dead­line to enter is April 30. Stu­dents at Kennedy Crossan, Im­manuel Luther­an and Present­a­tion BVM must sub­mit their entries to their prin­cip­al.

Stu­dents from oth­er schools can send entries to Burholme Town Watch and Civic As­so­ci­ation, ℅ United Meth­od­ist Church of the Re­deem­er, 1128 Cottman Ave., Phil­adelphia, PA 19111. Entries can also be dropped in­to the church mail­box on Lawndale Av­en­ue.

Win­ners will be honored at the June 12 civic meet­ing

The Burholme Com­munity Town Watch and Civic As­so­ci­ation will meet on Thursday, April 10, at 7 p.m. at United Meth­od­ist Church of the Re­deem­er, at Cottman and Lawndale av­en­ues.
