Bandit sought in Mayfair Wawa holdup

A masked man claimed he had a gun and robbed a May­fair Wawa on April 15.

The heist oc­curred at about 11:15 p.m. at 7001 Roosevelt Blvd., po­lice said. The rob­ber entered the store, ap­proached a clerk and de­man­ded cash, stat­ing, “Give me all the bills in the re­gister.” The ban­dit claimed he had a gun and held his hand in his jack­et pock­et as if to con­ceal a weapon. The clerk sur­rendered an un­dis­closed amount of cash.

The rob­ber fled the store and was last seen walk­ing across Tyson Av­en­ue to­ward an al­ley. He was de­scribed as white, 40 to 45 years old, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 170 to 200 pounds with dark brown eyes. He wore a black scarf cov­er­ing his face, a black knit cap pos­sibly with an Eagles logo and an olive green jack­et.
