Troopers issue Labor Day holiday DUIs

Pennsylvania State Police arrested 23 motorists for drunk-driving in Philadelphia, Montgomery and Delaware counties during the Labor Day holiday period from Friday through Monday. Captain James P. Raykovitz, commanding officer of Troop K at 2201 Belmont Ave., reported that there were 79 vehicle crashes that resulted in 34 injuries, but no fatalities, during the period. Four of the crashes were alcohol-related.

Troopers issued 905 traffic citations during the period, including 311 for speeding and 23 for DUI. ••
