Woman robbed at bank deposit slot

Po­lice are try­ing to identi­fy a rob­ber who held up a wo­man mak­ing a night de­pos­it at a Rhawn­hurst bank on Sept. 17.

The crime oc­curred at Wells Fargo at 7400 Bustleton Ave. at about 7:54 p.m., po­lice said. Sur­veil­lance video from the bank shows the 40-year-old vic­tim ap­proach­ing the night de­pos­it slot with a bank bag, fol­lowed by a man ap­proach­ing an ATM po­si­tioned next to the de­pos­it slot. At first, the sus­pect ap­peared as if he was go­ing to make a with­draw­al, but he then grabbed the vic­tim’s bank bag and ran to the park­ing lot of a nearby Sears store, where he entered a vehicle, pos­sibly a Chrysler Sebring, driv­en by an­oth­er per­son and fled the area.

The rob­ber was de­scribed as black, 30 years old and 6 feet tall, with short hair, a black base­ball cap, leath­er jack­et and sneak­ers.
