Police seek Somerton Wawa robber

A man dressed up for a pick-up basketball game robbed a Somerton convenience store on Aug. 24, say Philadelphia police, who are trying to identify the culprit.

Police described the robber as a white man between 30 and 40 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 200 pounds. He wore black athletic shorts, black sneakers and a baggy white tank top with a faded red or pink T-shirt underneath of it.

The robber walked into the Wawa at 10901 Bustleton Ave. on Aug. 24 at 5:18 p.m., told a cashier he had a gun and demanded money from the register, police said. The employee surrendered an undisclosed amount of money to the man, who fled through the rear of the store in an unknown direction.
