Nine displaced after Northeast apartment fire

Nine people were dis­placed Sept. 4 by a fire in a West Tor­res­dale apart­ment build­ing. No one was in­jured, said Ex­ec­ut­ive Fire Chief Richard Dav­is­on.

The Red Cross provided hous­ing for the six adults and three ju­ven­iles who lost their homes on the 9600 block of Ashton Road, the chief said. 

The Fire De­part­ment got the call about the fire at 2:13 p.m on Sept. 4, and fire­fight­ers had it un­der con­trol by 2:41 p.m., Dav­is­on said. The blaze began in one apart­ment in the two-story apart­ment build­ing and then spread to an­oth­er, he ad­ded.

The fire’s cause cur­rently is un­der in­vest­ig­a­tion. ••
