Deadline is Friday to apply for Homestead Exemption

You probably won’t have much luck getting a substantial city real estate tax break after Friday. Because Friday — and, yes, it is Friday the 13th — is the deadline to apply for the Homestead Exemption.

The Philadelphia police community is mourning the unexpected death of an officer who not only served the city through her job, but helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities.


NE Racquet Club to expand youth sports programs

The Northeast Racquet Club and Fitness Center offers young people opportunities through its Kids Club, summer camp and children’s parties. Now, athletic director Charlie Sgrillo wants to expand the sports program for boys and girls.
