Victim identified in fatal bus accident

Phil­adelphia po­lice have re­leased the iden­tity of the wo­man who was struck and killed by a school bus on Frank­ford Av­en­ue on Oct. 22, along with de­tails of the tragedy.

Kristen Fink, 27, of the 4400 block of Dec­atur St. in Holmes­burg, was at­tempt­ing to walk across the 7300 block of Frank­ford Ave., near Aldine Street, at about 10:47 a.m. when a yel­low 2002 Blue­bird school bus struck her in the south­bound right lane. Fink was cross­ing in the middle of the block, po­lice said.

Fink be­came trapped un­der the right rear tire of the bus and suffered un­dis­closed in­jur­ies. Para­med­ics pro­nounced her dead at the scene at 11 a.m.

No chil­dren were aboard the bus at the time, po­lice said, be­cause the vehicle was be­ing util­ized to train new bus drivers. One train­ee was be­hind the wheel, while four more train­ees were pas­sen­gers, along with one in­struct­or, po­lice said. No oth­er in­jur­ies were re­por­ted.

Durham School Ser­vices owns the bus. No crim­in­al charges were filed. ••
