Plaque to me­mori­al­ize drown­ing vic­tim

An ef­fort is un­der way to raise money for a plaque to me­mori­al­ize Brandon Boyle, the 13-year-old boy who died in the Pennypack Creek in Bustleton on Ju­ly 1.

The plaque would be placed in the park as a trib­ute to Brandon, who lived in Bell’s Corner.

Baptist church to host hol­i­day event Sunday

Star of Hope Baptist Church, 7212-28 Key­stone St. in Ta­cony, will host a Com­munity Trunk or Treat for all youths and their chap­er­ones on Sunday, Oct. 27, from 2 to 5:30 p.m. The af­ter­noon will in­clude free snacks, car trunks loaded with candy, games, face paint­ing, fun activ­it­ies and a spe­cial present­a­tion by the church’s drama min­istry. Judge has pro­gram for young wrest­lers

Ju­ni­or Cru­saders Wrest­ing will have sign-ups on Oct. 28, 29 and 30 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m at the Mitchell Cen­ter, loc­ated be­hind Fath­er Judge High School. The cost is $65 per wrest­ler.

His­tory fair at Holy Fam­ily

The Friends of North­east Phil­adelphia His­tory, in con­junc­tion with the Wash­ing­ton Rocham­beau Re­volu­tion­ary Route Na­tion­al His­tor­ic Trail, will be present­ing the North­east Phil­adelphia His­tory Fair at Holy Fam­ily Uni­versity, 9801 Frank­ford Ave., on Sat­urday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Ad­mis­sion is free.

His­tor­ic books and maps will be on dis­play.
