Loc­al artist in Dis­trict’s show

The School Dis­trict of Phil­adelphia will host its 15th an­nu­al His­pan­ic Her­it­age Month Cel­eb­ra­tion with the open­ing of an art ex­hib­it to­night, Oct. 2, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at The Edu­ca­tion Cen­ter, 440 N. Broad Street.

Brides­burg Rec. flea mar­ket

On Oct. 5, the Brides­burg Coun­cil of Churches will hold a flea mar­ket at the Brides­burg Re­cre­ation Cen­ter, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Spaces are $15, bring your own table. Rain or shine. Con­cilio Homeown­er Work­shop

On Tues­day, Oct. 8, from 5 to 8 p.m., Con­cilio will host a homeown­er­ship work­shop. The top­ics in­clude budget­ing, cred­it re­pair, mort­gage and the pur­chase pro­cess.

Brides­burg His­tor­ic­al So­ci­ety to meet

The next meet­ing of the Brides­burg His­tor­ic­al So­ci­ety will be held on Wed­nes­day Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Mari­an Hall on the north­w­est corner of Bucki­us and Ed­ge­mont Streets.  

The present­a­tion will be “The Farms of Brides­burg Bor­ough - 1850.”  Ad­mis­sion is free and re­fresh­ments will be served. ••

Oc­to­ber’s Second Sat­urday in Port Rich­mond

Oc­to­ber’s Second Sat­urday in Port Rich­mond will fea­ture a pump­kin art con­test and show­case. Join in on the fun on Oct. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m., on the 3100 block of Rich­mond St., between Al­legheny Av­en­ue and Clear­field St. 

For chil­dren, bring a painted pump­kin to be show­cased on Rich­mond Street the day of the event. For adults, bring your cre­at­ively carved pump­kin to be judged in our ‘Best Pump­kin on Rich­mond St.’ con­test.

St. Anne’s ‘Coach Bingo’

The last St. Anne’s Coach Bingo, on Sept. 7, was a great suc­cess. The bag for the last game re­tailed at $899. For $30 ad­mis­sion, en­joy snacks, cof­fee and cake while you play bingo for Coach bags.
