Gunman sought in Somerton robberies

Po­lice are try­ing to identi­fy a masked gun­man who held up two Somer­ton busi­nesses on Nov. 3.

The rob­ber struck twice with­in about three hours. Shortly be­fore 7 p.m., he walked in­to CVS at Bustleton Av­en­ue and County Line Road, poin­ted a black hand­gun at a couple of clerks and de­man­ded cash from the re­gister. Sur­veil­lance video showed one clerk scram­bling to open the re­gister, an­oth­er clerk stand­ing by with arms raised and a pat­ron nearby as the rob­ber ex­ited through the front door. He was last seen trav­el­ing west­bound on County Line Road on foot.

At about 10 p.m., the same man robbed the Cit­go at By­berry Road and Philmont Av­en­ue in sim­il­ar fash­ion. He was last seen run­ning east­bound from the busi­ness to­ward By­berry Road.

The rob­ber wore scarves to cov­er his face in both in­cid­ents, as well as hoods, base­ball hats and gloves. He changed cloth­ing from one rob­bery to the next. He was de­scribed as white, in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and with a thin to me­di­um build.
