Man critical after shooting

A man was hos­pit­al­ized in crit­ic­al con­di­tion fol­low­ing a shoot­ing on a Frank­ford street corner early Monday.

The gun­fire oc­curred at 12:25 a.m. at Griscom and Ar­rott streets. A 28-year-old man suffered two wounds to his right side, ac­cord­ing to po­lice. He re­mains in crit­ic­al con­di­tion at Temple Uni­versity Hos­pit­al. Au­thor­it­ies have not re­leased his name. 

The vic­tim de­scribed two as­sail­ants to po­lice. Both are black men. One wore a light-colored T-shirt, dark pants and a red hat. The oth­er wore dark cloth­ing. They fled in a white Pon­tiac sedan, pos­sibly south­bound on Frank­ford Av­en­ue.

A motive is not known. Tele­vi­sion sta­tion NBC10 broad­cast im­ages of po­lice tag­ging what ap­peared to be drug vi­als lit­ter­ing the side­walk at the scene.
