Mayfair-Holmesburg Thanksgiving Parade is Nov. 24

The Mayfair Business Association will present the 37th annual Mayfair-Holmesburg Thanksgiving Parade on Sunday, Nov. 24, along Frankford Avenue. The parade will start at noon at Rhawn Street. It will proceed south to Knorr Street. The performing area will be at Tudor Street.


A salute to vets

A hero’s honor: Wesley Enhanced Living Burholme saluted its resident veterans with a special ceremony in their honor on Monday, Nov. 11. Local kindergarteners from Oxford Childcare Center presented the 16 resident veterans with homemade gifts. State Rep. Kevin J. Boyle, along with Nick Himebaugh, staff member from Rep. VFW Memorial Post 20 honor veterans at NE war memorial

Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post 20 on Sunday morning conducted a ceremony on the eve of Veterans Day at the longstanding war memorial on the Abraham Lincoln High School campus.
