Fox Chase Town Watch to hold benefit for Duffy on May 15

The Fox Chase Town Watch has organized a benefit dinner to fund accessibility-related renovations to the home of the organization’s vice president, John Duffy.

Friends and community members are invited to attend the May 15 event at Cottage Green, 9100 Ashton Road. Admission is $50 and includes a buffet, open bar and DJ entertainment.

Tickets may also be obtained by calling the Town Watch at 215-964-6666.

Duffy is a founding member of the Town Watch and is a long-serving member of its executive board. He also organized the annual National Night Out at Fox Chase Elementary School.

In January, he suffered a devastating stroke. Now, he is working hard to regain use of his arms and legs and faces many out-of-pocket costs related to his treatment, as well as renovations to his home to accommodate his physical needs.

Duffy is a well-known community figure who also worked several years in the district office of former state Rep. John Perzel.

The benefit will be held from 6 to 10 p.m.

Those who cannot attend may contribute by calling or by sending a check to Fox Chase Town Watch, P.O. Box 56528, Philadelphia, PA 19111. Specify “John Duffy fund” in the memo line. ••
