Fatal motorcycle crash in Mayfair

A Mayfair man was killed last week in a motorcycle crash about four blocks from his home.

Francis Goodroe, 39, of the 2700 block of Levick St., died after his cycle collided with a car at Harbison and Robbins avenues at about 8:30 p.m., police said. Goodroe was riding a 2001 Honda northbound on Harbison when a southbound car began turning left onto Robbins. When the motorcycle struck the 2001 Infinity, Goodroe was thrown into the street. He suffered fatal head injuries and died at the scene.

Police Chief Inspector Scott Small reportedly said that Goodroe was not wearing a helmet.

Police did not release the name of the other driver, who was not injured and remained at the scene for first responders to arrive. There were no passengers with either vehicle.

Both vehicles had green lights, police said. No charges were filed. An investigation continues. ••
