Ron Jaworski, football analyst and former Eagle, will appear at the Chamber Expo.
The Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce/Crown Holdings Annual Business Expo will be held on Wednesday, May 8, from 2 to 6 p.m., in the Campus Center gymnasium at Holy Family University at Frankford and Grant avenues.
Ron Jaworski, a football analyst for ESPN and former Philadelphia Eagle, will make an appearance at the Expo, which is free and open to the public. This year’s theme is “The Road to Success.”
The Expo is expected to bring together more than 100 businesses from a wide variety of industries and nonprofits that will display their goods and explain their services.
Exhibitor tables are available at $350 for members and $599 for non-members (which includes first-year dues).
“This is the best opportunity you will have to maximize your market share,” said GNPCC President Al Taubenberger. “We are working very hard to create the optimum event for all businesses to showcase their products and services. The response from the public last year was tremendous, which translated into a busy day for our vendors. We fully expect the same this year.”
Last year, the industries that took part included banking, travel, dining, catering, health care, communications, social services, senior living, education, maintenance, warehouse clubs, food and beverage, online services, commercial development, payroll services, insurance, floral, auto body, storage, nursing, imports and hotels.
Hundreds of local businesspersons, many of them key decision-makers at their places of work, are expected to attend this year. Lou Feinberg is the longtime Expo chairman.
The event also will feature samples of local cuisine, and restaurant and catering exhibitors.
A large array of beautifully decorated gift baskets will be on display for a silent auction. Donations for these baskets are still being sought. Sponsorship packages are also available, starting at $1,000.
The Fifth Annual Business Expo Luncheon will be held before the Expo, starting at 12:30 p.m. in the atrium outside the exhibition space. “International trade” will be the topic of the luncheon forum. Tickets are $30 for members and $50 for non-members. Please reserve in advance by calling the GNPCC at 215-332-3400.
The title sponsor of the Expo is Crown Holdings, the international packaging company headquartered in Northeast Philadelphia.
The Expo is co-sponsored by Nazareth Hospital, Holy Family University, 3rd Fed Bank, Aria Health, Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Association, Comcast Business Class, Wawa, Sandmeyer Steel Co. and Clear Channel Outdoor.
