Star­board Side Gal­lery grand open­ing
On Fri­day, May 3, from 6 to 9 p.m., the new Star­board Side Gal­lery in the Port­side Arts Cen­ter, 2531 E. Le­high Ave., will hold its first show­ing of art­works by stu­dents and loc­al artists. Beef-and-beer for Alex’s Lem­on­ade Stand
A char­it­able din­ner is be­ing or­gan­ized by Bri­anna Roc­cia on Fri­day, May 3, from 9 to 11 p.m., with all pro­ceeds go­ing to Alex’s Lem­on­ade Stand found­a­tion, a group that funds re­search in­to cur­ing child­hood can­cer.

Greens­grow Spring Crafts Fair
En­joy the at­mo­sphere of the farm­stand and the nurs­ery while get­ting your Moth­er’s Day gifts from Greens­grow’s tal­en­ted ar­ray of loc­al artists and craft vendors on Sat­urday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The bazaar will fea­ture hand­made, one-of-a-kind items, in­clud­ing a vari­ety of up­cycled crafts, hand­made soaps for home, bath and body, candles, crochet and knit­ted ac­cessor­ies, prints, ceram­ics, pho­to­graphs, jew­elry, wood crafts and fur­niture.

Fishtown Ac­tion to meet
FACT will meet Monday, May 6 at 7 p.m. at Holy Name Church Hall, 701 Gaul St. In­ter­ested in hear­ing about the Steve Wynn casino and re­sort pro­pos­al that may come to the River Wards, in Fishtown? Mem­bers of the Wynn Group will present the pro­ject spe­cif­ics and an­swer ques­tions from com­munity mem­bers. ••

FNA Zon­ing Com­mit­tee to meet
The Fishtown Neigh­bors As­so­ci­ation’s Zon­ing Com­mit­tee will hear three zon­ing pro­pos­als on Tues­day, May 7, from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Fishtown Rec. Cen­ter, 1202 E. Mont­gomery Ave.

The pro­pos­als are: 1520 Frank­ford Ave - a pro­pos­al for a com­mer­cial re­tail space on the first floor. 529 E Gir­ard Ave - a pro­pos­al for out­door side­walk seat­ing. 412-24 Moy­er St. A pro­pos­al for 14 three-story single-fam­ily homes with off-street park­ing and roof decks on an in­dus­tri­al lot.

Brides­burg His­tor­ic­al So­ci­ety to meet
The next meet­ing of the Brides­burg His­tor­ic­al So­ci­ety will be held on Wed­nes­day, May 8, at 7:30 p.m. at All Saints Mari­an Hall, on the north­w­est corner of Ed­ge­mont and Bucki­us streets.
