At the Flower Show, Fishtown and NoLibs blossom

Exhibitors from companies based in both Fishtown and Northern Liberties are showcasing crafts and colorful blooms at the 2013 Philadelphia Flower Show, which continues through March 10 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Carroll High students rally to keep their school open

Last Thursday, about 75 students at Charles Carroll High School in Port Richmond had a lot to say about their school’s inclusion in the largest mass school closing in Philadelphia history.


Ex-Lt. Josey’s acquittal a ‘true smack in the face’

City officials and members of the Puerto Rican community and beyond said they were outraged and disappointed by the Feb. 26 acquittal of the former Philadelphia police officer charged with simple assault. Ex-police Lt. Jonathan Josey had been caught on video striking a woman in the face in Kensington during September’s Puerto Rican Day celebration, at 5th Street and Lehigh Avenue.
