Poppy loves to play

Poppy is a gentle and sweet 7- to 8-month-old orange tabby who was saved from living on the streets. He is in foster care via Forgotten Cats.

The cat is playful, and enjoys cuddles and attention. He is neutered and vaccinated, and has tested negative for both the feline leukemia and immunodeficiency viruses.

Samantha needs a forever home

Samantha came to Philadelphia’s Animal Care and Control, at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave., as a stray. Her tag number is A18754048.

The dog is 1 to 2 years old and on the small side. She’s had a pretty rough life so far and would love a family to call her own.

Adoption hours are weekdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ••

Wanted: a new best friend for Opie

Opie is a male Labrador Retriever mix who was sent to a boarding kennel after his owner had died. The 7-year-old, three-legged dog is laid back and loves to go on walks and roll around in the grass. He has no problem going up one or two steps, but can’t walk up or down a flight of stairs. Opie is a people-lover who adores affection. Opie does not like cats and would do best in a house with children over the age of 12.
