Crossan pupils hear about careers

Kennedy C. Crossan Ele­ment­ary School re­cently wel­comed more than two dozen people for a ca­reer day present­a­tion for pu­pils.

Among those speak­ing to pu­pils on May 16 were po­lice of­ficers, fire­fight­ers, emer­gency med­ic­al tech­ni­cians, nurses, cable tele­vi­sion in­stallers, bankers, a mil­it­ary mem­ber, doc­tor, sci­ent­ist, law­yer, pa­role of­ficer, phar­macist, Re­altor, ac­count­ant, travel agent, dent­al as­sist­ant, pas­tor, pho­to­graph­er and news­pa­per re­port­er.

The day was co­ordin­ated by coun­selor Di­ane Squaresky and Nancy Os­tro­ff, a re­tired teach­er and Burholme res­id­ent.

Crossan is loc­ated at 7350 Bing­ham Street (at Be­ligh Av­en­ue) in Burholme.

Prin­cip­al Lynne Mil­lard said Crossan has about 360 pu­pils in kinder­garten through fifth grade. ••
