Glen Foerd summer fun A sailing regatta, outdoor concert series and guided tours will highlight programming at Glen Foerd on the Delaware in June. On Tuesday, June 18, at 5:30 p.m., the Racing Fleet of the Delaware River Yacht Club will open the 20th annual Glen Foerd Regatta. Guests will dine riverside on a picnic-style summer buffet. Iced tea, lemonade and assorted soft drinks are included in the buffet, with a cash bar available for those wishing to toast their favorite sailboat. Maritime music specialist and Glen Foerd favorite Charlie Zahm will provide listening enjoyment. Tickets cost $30 for members or $35 for nonmembers. Reservations are required. The event always sells out. The 2013 Glen Foerd Summer Concert series will debut on June 25 with the Philadelphia String Quartet. Future performances include the Sounds of Swing on July 16 and Hot Taters: Dixieland/New Orleans Mardi Gras on Aug. 20. All shows start at 7 p.m. Premium seats in the air-conditioned tent cost $3 for non-members and are free for members. There are 160 tent seats available. Lawn seating is free. As an ongoing initiative throughout the summer, Glen Foerd also will offer guided public tours of the 19th-century mansion every Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesday at 11 a.m. Tours last for about one hour. Reservations are not required, but visitors should call ahead to ensure that a tour is not cancelled due to another special event. Guided tours are also available by appointment on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays year-round. Reservations are required at least two days in advance. Construction forces northbound 95 lanes to close late Thursday and early Friday

Contractors for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will close northbound lanes of Interstate 95 between Bridge Street and Cottman Avenue on Thursday night and early Friday for storm inlet adjustments in the Cottman Avenue Interchange work zone.
