Parx names new GM

An­thony Faranca is the new gen­er­al man­ager of Parx Casino. Green­wood Ra­cing Inc., the own­er and op­er­at­or of the Ben­s­alem gam­ing com­plex, made the an­nounce­ment.

“I am honored to have the op­por­tun­ity to lead this in­cred­ible team at the No. 1 casino in Pennsylvania,” Faranca said. “I truly look for­ward to the con­tin­ued de­vel­op­ment, ex­pan­sion and suc­cess of this dis­tin­guished com­pany.”

Faranca, a Phil­adelphia nat­ive, joined the Green­wood team in 2008 as dir­ect­or of op­er­a­tions and quickly pro­gressed in­to the as­sist­ant gen­er­al man­ager role. With­in three years, Faranca was pro­moted to vice pres­id­ent of op­er­a­tions, re­spons­ible for all casino op­er­a­tions, play­er de­vel­op­ment and VIP mar­ket­ing strategy.

“An­thony Faranca has al­ways been and will con­tin­ue to be a tre­mend­ous as­set to our or­gan­iz­a­tion,” said CEO Tony Ricci. “His stead­fast lead­er­ship, ef­fi­cient man­age­ment style and stra­tegic de­vel­op­ment has helped to build the best casino op­er­a­tions team in the busi­ness.”

Pri­or to work­ing at Parx Casino, Faranca served as re­gion­al vice pres­id­ent of na­tion­al casino mar­ket­ing for the four Har­rah’s En­ter­tain­ment prop­er­ties in At­lantic City. Faranca is a gradu­ate of Le­high Uni­versity and the Mas­sachu­setts In­sti­tute of Tech­no­logy.

Parx fea­tures 164,000 square feet of gam­ing, 3,350 slot ma­chines, 110 table games, 60 poker tables and live horse ra­cing and sim­ul­cast ac­tion. There are also sev­er­al bars and res­taur­ants. The Street Road fa­cil­ity of­fers free park­ing for more than 5,000 vehicles. ••
