Public forum scheduled for July 9

Terry Tracy, the Re­pub­lic­an can­did­ate for city con­trol­ler, will con­duct what he said will be the first in a series of pub­lic town hall gath­er­ings around Phil­adelphia on Tues­day, Ju­ly 9, from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Holmes­burg Re­cre­ation Cen­ter, at Rhawn and Dit­man streets.

The pur­pose of the “Town Hall with Terry” events is to have a dis­cus­sion of the city’s gov­ernance, to hear feed­back from res­id­ents and pro­pose solu­tions for mov­ing Phil­adelphia to­ward its po­ten­tial. 

Ad­mis­sion is free, and all res­id­ents and busi­ness own­ers in the North­east are en­cour­aged to at­tend. Top­ics will in­clude schools, eco­nom­ic de­vel­op­ment and gov­ern­ment ac­count­ab­il­ity. 

Terry, who faces in­cum­bent Demo­crat­ic City Con­trol­ler Alan Butkovitz, wel­comes people to bring mo­bile devices so they can tweet and post so­cial me­dia dur­ing the event. ••
