Mu­sic camp at Cres­centville church

The Cres­centville United Meth­od­ist Church is con­tinu­ing its mix of Bib­lic­al and artist­ic stud­ies through Fri­day, Ju­ly 12. The church is loc­ated at 412 Sen­t­ner St., and it in­vites chil­dren from ages 5 to 14 to par­ti­cip­ate in the mak­ing of a chil­dren’s mu­sic­al based on the scrip­tures.

Activ­it­ies in­clude Bible stor­ies, songs and crafts, and T-shirts and snacks will be provided.

The re­gis­tra­tion fee is $5.

Chil­dren’s pro­grams at Holmes­burg Lib­rary

The Holmes­burg Lib­rary and Friends of Holms­burg Lib­rary are of­fer­ing as­sor­ted activ­it­ies for chil­dren in the sum­mer months. The sum­mer read­ing pro­gram will be held un­til Aug. 9, and chil­dren are awar­ded stick­ers and prizes for stop­ping by the lib­rary once a week. Preschool story times are hos­ted Ju­ly 23 and Aug. 13, at 10:30 a.m. A “craft of the week” is fea­tured every Thursday, from Ju­ly 11 to Aug. 1, at 3 p.m.

On Monday, Aug. 12, a fam­ily night is be­ing held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The night will in­clude face-paint­ing, story time and a ma­gic show.

Craft sale and bake sale at Naz­areth

The Naz­areth Academy High School Par­ents’ As­so­ci­ation will present its an­nu­al bake sale and craft show. Held on Oct. 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the craft show will fea­ture more than 40 unique vendors dis­play­ing their products as well as baked goods from the par­ents of the academy’s stu­dents.

Sum­mer events at Churchville Nature Cen­ter

The Bucks County De­part­ment of Parks and Re­cre­ation and the Friends of Churchville Nature Cen­ter are run­ning weeks four and five of the Chil­dren’s Sum­mer Nature Camps, from Ju­ly 15-19 and Ju­ly 22-26. Each week has a spe­cif­ic theme, such as week four’s “Let’s Go Fish­ing” and week five’s “Out­door Games.” The camp is geared to chil­dren from ages 4 to 9, and full-day pro­grams cost $191 for non-mem­bers and $175 for mem­bers. Half-day pro­grams cost $80 and $72, for non-mem­bers and mem­bers, re­spect­ively.

Early morn­ing bird walks will be held on Ju­ly 20 and 27 from 7 to 9 a.m. The pro­gram is free to the gen­er­al pub­lic, and par­ti­cipants are en­cour­aged to bring bin­ocu­lars and bird iden­ti­fic­a­tion field guides.

Pub­lic tours of the Lenape Vil­lage will be held on Ju­ly 21 and 28. Tours be­gin at 1 p.m. and go on un­til 4 p.m., with a $5 fee. Re­ser­va­tions are re­ques­ted. The themes of the two weeks are “Nat­ive Medi­cines” and “Wild Ed­ibles.”

Re­unions for St. Anne’s

Two sum­mer events will help to be­ne­fit re­pairs of the so­cial hall of St. Anne’s Church.

The 11th an­nu­al St. Anne Shore Thing will be held at Light­house Pointe, at 5101 Shaw­crest Ave., in Wild­wood, N.J., on Aug. 17 from 2 to 6 p.m.

Tick­ets cost $30 per per­son and will in­clude beer, wine, soda, food and mu­sic.

The St. Anne’s All-Class Re­union will be held on Nov. 9 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Cot­tage Green, at 9001 Ashton Road. Tick­ets are $50 per per­son, which in­cludes din­ner, open bar, food and dan­cing.

Tick­ets for both events are on sale at St. Anne’s rect­ory at 2328 E. Le­high Ave. Bus trans­port may be made avail­able.

Pro­grams offered for teens

The Holmes­burg Lib­rary is hold­ing a few activ­it­ies for teen­agers over the sum­mer.

A movie-mak­ing sem­in­ar will be held on Tues­days at 3:30 p.m. un­til Ju­ly 30. There will be in­struc­tion on how to cre­ate movie scenes us­ing Le­g­os and brick film soft­ware.

The pro­ject will cul­min­ate in a Lego Movie Award ce­re­mony on Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. Con­test­ants will enter their pieces to com­pete for “best pic­ture.”

Game days will be held every Tues­day un­til Ju­ly 30. Board games and a Wii will be avail­able for use.

The Friends of Holmes­burg Lib­rary spon­sors the pro­grams.

Block parties to help parks

Block parties are be­ing hos­ted by the Tookany/Ta­cony-Frank­ford Wa­ter­shed Part­ner­ship Inc. every Wed­nes­day in Ju­ly from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Free pret­zels and wa­ter ice will be dis­trib­uted, and there will be giveaways and guided walk­ing tours of the creek.

The first will be held at I Street and Ra­mona Av­en­ue, the second at Fish­ers Lane and Ra­mona Av­en­ue, the third at Whi­taker Av­en­ue and Loud­on Street, and the fourth at Rorer Street and Roosevelt Boulevard.

How to sell in today’s “wired world”

Dale Carne­gie Train­ing and the Great­er North­east Phil­adelphia Cham­ber of Com­merce are hold­ing a class to teach sales people how to be suc­cess­ful in today’s busi­ness world.

On Ju­ly 16, they will be cov­er­ing how to ask the right ques­tions to get ap­point­ments. The price for the class is $49 for mem­bers and $60 for non-mem­bers. The class will take place at the Hol­i­day Inn Ex­press Phil­adelphia NE-Ben­s­alem, 1329 Bris­tol Pike in Ben­s­alem. PECO golf out­ing

The 91st an­nu­al Great­er North­east Phil­adelphia Cham­ber of Com­merce/PECO En­ergy golf out­ing will take place at Tor­res­dale-Frank­ford Coun­try Club, 3801 Grant Ave., on Sept. 6. 

Re­gis­tra­tion be­gins at 10 a.m. that day, fol­lowed by a bar­be­cue-style lunch. The shot­gun start will be at 12:15 p.m., and an open bar will be held from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. A buf­fet din­ner and awards ce­re­mony will fin­ish off the pro­ceed­ings from 5:45 to 7 p.m. 

The cost is $225 per golfer, and $900 for a four­some. Din­ner cost is $50, and spon­sor­ship pack­ages start at $650. Ad­vert­ising prices start at $75. The dead­line is Aug. 29.
