Com­munity group meet­ings

The New Kens­ing­ton Com­munity De­vel­op­ment Cor­por­a­tion’s Neigh­bor­hood Ad­vis­ory Sub­com­mit­tee (NAS) elec­tions will be held to­night from 4 to 8 p.m. at the NK­CDC of­fice, 2515 Frank­ford Ave.

All per­sons 18 years of age or older resid­ing in the NK­CDC NAS ser­vice area (Laurel Street to Al­legheny, Front Street/Kens­ing­ton Av­en­ue to the Delaware River) are eli­gible to vote.

Each voter must bring a driver’s li­cense or re­cent util­ity bill show­ing his or her name and cur­rent ad­dress. For more info. and a list of can­did­ates’ names, vis­it nk­cdc.org. ••

The Port Rich­mond West Com­munity Ac­tion Net­work and the West of Ara­mingo Neigh­bors As­so­ci­ation will meet to­night at 7 at Mem­ph­is Street Academy Charter School, 2950 Mem­ph­is St.

The PRW­CAN has in­vited Con­Rail to the meet­ing to in­form neigh­bors what it in­tends to do with much of the va­cant and un­used rail­road land in the com­munity. The group also plans to dis­cuss a real es­tate de­vel­op­ment in a former school build­ing  and in­dus­tri­al site as well as oth­er is­sues. ••

The Fishtown Neigh­bors As­so­ci­ation will meet to­mor­row, Jan, 17, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Fishtown Re­cre­ation Cen­ter. ••

The East Kens­ing­ton Neigh­bors As­so­ci­ation will meet Monday, Jan. 21, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Phil­adelphia Brew­ing Com­pany, Martha and Hagert streets. ••

The Olde Rich­mond Civic As­so­ci­ation will meet on Tues­day, Jan. 22, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Cione Rec., at Ara­mingo and Le­high av­en­ues. ••

The North­ern Liber­ties Neigh­bors As­so­ci­ation will meet Thursday, Jan. 24, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the North­ern Liber­ties Com­munity Cen­ter, 700 N. Third St. ••

On Thursday, Jan. 24, at 7 p.m., join the Port Rich­mond Com­munity Group at Our Lady Help of Chris­ti­ans, Al­legheny Av­en­ue at Gaul St.

The group will dis­cuss the crime in Port Rich­mond and how it is be­ing ad­dressed. State Rep. John Taylor, Marc Collazzo, Esq., Lt. Vann of the 24th Dis­trict and Sgt. Arm­strong of the Nar­cot­ics Di­vi­sion will join the group. Email PRCGhelp@aol.com with ques­tions. ••

Bas­ket­ball at Han­cock
The Han­cock Re­cre­ation Cen­ter bas­ket­ball pro­gram will be re­gis­ter­ing chil­dren ages 7 to 12 for its bas­ket­ball clin­ic and league for 2013. The clin­ic will be held at Mof­fet Ele­ment­ary School, Ox­ford and Mascher streets.

This winter, the Brides­burg Re­cre­ation Cen­ter is of­fer­ing a wide range of adult activ­it­ies. The sched­ule in­cludes: Zumba classes on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sat­urday morn­ings; ceram­ics on Tues­days from 6:30 to 9 p.m.; scrap­book­ing on Wed­nes­days from 6:30 to 9 p.m.; a ladies’ bowl­ing league on Tues­days at 9 a.m. at Erie Lanes, 1300 E. Erie Ave.
