Coyle resigns as Crusaders’ football coach

Tom Coyle has led the foot­ball pro­gram at Fath­er Judge, his alma ma­ter, since the 2000 sea­son.


After 13 years as the head foot­ball coach at Fath­er Judge High School, Tom Coyle has stepped down to take the same po­s­i­tion at Penn Charter.

The move be­came of­fi­cial on Thursday af­ter­noon, when Coyle met with his play­ers at Fath­er Judge to give them the news. He was later in­tro­duced as the new foot­ball coach at Penn Charter at 3:30 p.m.

“Tom Coyle resigned as the Judge foot­ball coach this af­ter­noon to ac­cept the head coach po­s­i­tion at Penn Charter be­gin­ning next sea­son,” Fath­er Judge ath­let­ic dir­ect­or Ed Evan­it­sky said in an email to theNorth­east Times. “We already have set up a search com­mit­tee to be­gin look­ing for a qual­i­fied re­place­ment for Tom.  We don’t have any timetable for mak­ing a se­lec­tion yet.”
