The Historical Society of Frankford will host its annual Winter Holiday Social along with the program Fighting Fire in Frankford on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at The Center for Northeast Philadelphia History, 1507 Orthodox St.
The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. and feature Jack Wright of the Fireman’s Hall Museum, who will introduce some of his organization’s collections. Visitors also will view some of the society’s library and museum collections of firefighting artifacts from Frankford’s long-disbanded volunteer fire companies, dating back to 1793.
Admission is free to members of the society and costs $5 for non-members. Refreshments will be served. Guests are encouraged to bring light fare or desserts to share for the Holiday Social.
