Bryan Biederman, 39, of the 9500 block of Evans St., confessed to downloading and distributing sexually explicit images and videos of pre-teenage girls on his laptop computer, according to an arrest report released publicly by the attorney general.

The investigation began on Oct. 12 when an agent allegedly downloaded five files containing suspected child pornography directly from Biederman’s “host” computer using a Web-based file-sharing program. Biederman was a user of the same program.

The agent obtained the host computer’s unique IP address from the file-sharing program. The agent then obtained a court order directing the host computer’s Internet service provider, Comcast, to reveal the account holder’s name and address.

Agents and Philadelphia police executed a search warrant at Biederman’s apartment at about 2:45 p.m. on Dec. 16. They found a laptop computer in the living room. A forensic examination of the device allegedly revealed 25 videos depicting child pornography. Agents arrested Biederman at his place of work about an hour later.

Biederman was charged with five counts of distributing child porn, 25 counts of possessing child porn and one count of criminal use of a communication facility. He remains in custody at Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail and is scheduled for a Jan. 3 preliminary hearing.

Three other Philadelphia men were arrested last week in unrelated child pornography cases. They included Kevin Budianto, 20, of the 2100 block of S. 15th St.; Michael Turpin, 23, of the 4100 block of Poplar St.; and James Davis, 22, on the 3200 block of W. Montgomery Ave. ••
