Somerton meeting postponed to Jan. 14

The Somer­ton Civic As­so­ci­ation meet­ing ori­gin­ally sched­uled for Dec. 10 has been post­poned un­til Tues­day, Jan. 14, due to snow. The meet­ing will start at 7 p.m. at Walk­er Lodge 306, 1290 Southamp­ton Road.

The agenda in­cludes a present­a­tion by a rep­res­ent­at­ive from Cath­ol­ic Com­munity Ser­vices, who will dis­cuss the agency’s vari­ous pro­grams and ser­vices de­signed to help fam­il­ies and in­di­vidu­als. In ad­di­tion, civic as­so­ci­ation mem­bers will be in­formed about re­cent zon­ing is­sues in the neigh­bor­hood, in­clud­ing a pro­pos­al for the ex­pan­sion of Bull Shoot­ers Sa­loon (the former Whis­key Tango and John’s Board­walk Bar and Grill) at 14000 Bustleton Ave. Ac­cord­ing to the SCA’s Decem­ber news­let­ter, the own­er of the prop­erty has ap­plied to in­crease the num­ber of second-floor apart­ments there from 30 to 41.

The civic as­so­ci­ation will con­tin­ue its usu­al sched­ule of monthly meet­ings on Tues­day, Feb. 11.
