Be Scrappy’s new friend

Scrappy is a handsome 2-year-old brindle pit bull terrier mix who came to Philadelphia’s Animal Care and Control, at 111 W. Hunting Park Ave., because his owner passed away and there was no one to care for him. His tag number is A17362339.

The dog is happy and enjoys relaxing by the side of his human friends or taking a nap with them. He likes hanging out with other dogs. He knows some commands and will sit nicely for a treat.

Adoption hours are weekdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. ••

Spice up your life

Spice is a young orange and white tabby who is quite the charmer.

The cat loves laps and being close as possible to his human friends. He is also sociable with other cats.

Spice is in foster care via Forgotten Cats. He’s neutered and vaccinated, and has tested negative for the feline leukemia and immunodeficiency viruses.

For more information, visit http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/PA586.html or go to the adoption center in Petsmart at 901 Old York Road in Jenkintown. ••

Two are better than one

Rayna and Teddy, both 9 months olds, are a sister and brother who were found scrounging for food on a lonely city street. They are in the care of Northeast Animal Rescue.

Rayna is friendly and affectionate. She gets along with dogs and cats, and would do best in a home with older kids. Teddy is friendly and outgoing and does well with dogs and kids. He can be aggressive to some cats.

Rayna is spayed, and Teddy is neutered. Both are current on vaccinations, and have tested negative for the feline immunodeficiency and leukemia viruses.
