Philadelphia police released surveillance video on Wednesday to seek the public’s help in identifying two men who robbed a Verizon store at gunpoint in Frankford last month.

The heist occurred at 4745 Frankford Ave. on Aug. 22 at about 12:35 p.m. According to police, one of the suspects approached an employee and asked for help in purchasing a cell phone. As the employee walked to the rear of the store to retrieve a phone, the same suspect followed the employee and stated, “Don’t be stupid or my brother will shoot up the place,” according to police.

The same suspect stuffed numerous cell phones into a bag and exited the store with the alleged accomplice, police said. The employee followed the robbers on foot eastbound on Foulkrod Street, but one of the suspects revealed a handgun in his waistband, so the employee retreated, police said.

One suspect was described as black with a dark complexion, 5 feet 6 inches tall and 140 pounds. He wore a white tank top and gray, tight-fitting pants with dark patches on the knees. He also wore a black New Orleans Saints baseball cap, a chain and pendant around his neck and white high-top basketball sneakers.

The other suspect was described as black and 6 feet 1 inch tall with a thin build. He wore a dark t-shirt, blue jeans with holes in the thighs and right knee, gray Nike running sneakers with black laces, a dark baseball cap and dark sunglasses.
