Frank Glavin Girl Scouts car wash
The Girl Scout Troops at Frank Glaving Playground, 2600 Westmoreland St., will host a car wash on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to noon. Stop by and help the girls raise money to attend a youth education program in Disney World next year.
Refreshments will be available. Portions of all the group’s fundraising activities will also benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association, the Ronald McDonald House at St. Christopher Hospital, and the Glavin Playground equipment upgrade fund. ••
Produce vouchers for seniors
Low-income Philadelphia seniors who haven’t received free produce vouchers are encouraged to take advantage of the limited supplies of vouchers. They are being distributed at Phiadelphia Corporation for Aging,642 N. Broad St., on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Seniors should call the PCA Helpline at 215-765-9040 to verify their eligibility and availability of vouchers. Eligible Philadelphia seniors can receive $20 worth of vouchers that can be used to purchase fresh Pennsylvania-grown produce sold at certified Farmers’ Markets in Philadelphia. ••
Financial literacy workshop

Civil War memorial unveiling
On Sunday, Sept. 29, a monument will be dedicated to the memory of the Willingmyre brothers, five Fishtown men who all fought in the Civil War.
