With fall just around the corner, the River Wards are alive again with meet­ings, trips, and com­munity events. We've got the com­pre­hens­ive list.

Port Rich­mond Ti­gers news

Last call for “tot soc­cer,” for girls and boys ages 4 to 6. Sign up by Sept. 7 at the club­house, 2423 E. Ann St.

Tick­ets are also on sale for the Ti­gers’ 2012 an­nu­al sports ban­quet. It will be held Thursday, Sept 20 at 6 p.m. at the “Cas­bah,” at Thompson and Tioga streets.

Eli­gibile play­ers are free but must get a tick­et. $15 for adults, $12 for non-play­ing chil­dren. Every­one at­tend­ing must have a tick­et by Fri­day, Sept. 14. Tick­ets can be pur­chased at the club­house Monday through Fri­day, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. For more in­form­a­tion call Tom Mack at 215-275-8838. ••

Fishtown Neigh­bors As­so­ci­ation zon­ing meet­ing

Tues­day, Septem­ber 11, at 7 p.m., re­gard­ing Canal Street North at Penn Treaty Vil­lage: a pro­pos­al for a loc­al dis­til­lery, bowl­ing al­ley, con­cert ven­ue, coun­try and west­ern bar, res­taur­ant, re­tail out­let, and over 300 sur­face park­ing spaces. This meet­ing will be held at First Pres­by­teri­an Church of Kens­ing­ton 418 E. Gir­ard Ave.  All res­id­ents of Fishtown are eli­gible to vote; bring ID. ••

Ladies of Port Rich­mond fun­draiser

Flea mar­ket and craft show

Frank­lin Towne Charter pan­cake break­fast

Help sup­port the athet­lics de­part­ment at the 2nd an­nu­al pan­cake break­fast on Sept. 15 from 8 a.m. un­til noon. The event will take place at Frank­lin Towne Charter High School in the  Frank­lin Towne Activ­ity Cen­ter, 5301 Ta­cony St. Cost is $5 for adults, $3 for chil­dren un­der 3. Baked goods and raffle prizes will also be avail­able. ••

Ma­ter Dol­orosa bus trip

Cel­eb­rate the Feast of San Gen­naro with Ma­ter Dol­orosa Church with a bus trip to New York City. The trip will take place on Septem­ber 16.

Bus de­parts from the church, 1676 Ru­an St., at 8:30 a.m. The bus leaves New York City at 4:30 p.m. Tick­ets are $40, for re­ser­va­tions call the rect­ory at 215-535-4036 or call Lou at 215-285-2067.

The par­ish will also cel­eb­rate the Feast Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in the church. ••

Cione Play­ground activ­it­ies

Cione Play­ground is of­fer­ing vari­ous activ­it­ies start­ing in the fall, in­clud­ing: an after school pro­gram for chil­dren in kinder­garten through sixth grade; tum­bling and gym­nastics for ages 3 ½ and up; “Pee-Wee” soc­cer for ages 4 to 6; arts and crafts; “Tot Rec” for ages 3 1/2 to 5, and bi­cycle polo.

Stick­ball tour­na­ment

Frank Glav­in pro­grams

Frank Glav­in Play­ground, at 2600 West­mo­re­land St., will be hold­ing re­gis­tra­tion for its dance, tum­bling, Zumba, and yoga pro­grams on Thurs., Sept. 6, from 7 to 8 p.m. $20 due at re­gis­tra­tion.  Oth­er activ­it­ies: Girl Scouts, Tae-Kwon-Do, com­pet­it­ive dance in­struc­tion and tot soc­cer. The Frank Glav­in fall flea mar­ket will be Sat­urday, Sept. 29, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Set-up space is $10 to be paid that morn­ing. Set-up is along Al­mond and West­mor­land streets on a first- come, first-serve basis. No food vendors. ••

Penn Treaty Park fun­draiser

On Fri­day, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m., The Friends of Penn Treaty Park will host the “Cham­pagne in the Park” fun­draiser at the park. Tick­ets are $35 in ad­vance or $45 day-of. B. Someday Pro­duc­tions presents the first an­nu­al fun­draiser for its Bar­ry­more Award-win­ning theatre out­reach pro­gram, Of Myth­ic Pro­por­tions, on Sat­urday, Septem­ber 29, 6 to 10 p.m. at Mi­chael’s Dec­or­at­ors, 2210 Frank­ford Ave.
