Man shot to death on Northwood street corner


Phil­adelphia hom­icide de­tect­ives are in­vest­ig­at­ing the shoot­ing death of a man on a North­wood street corner on Sept. 10.

Po­lice were called to the 4600 block of Hor­rocks St. at 11:36 p.m. and found the vic­tim lay­ing on the ground with mul­tiple wounds of the torso, said Of­ficer Jill­ian Rus­sell, a po­lice spokes­wo­man.

The vic­tim was iden­ti­fied as Naeem Giles, 24, of the 4200 block of Salem St. He was pro­nounced dead at the scene.

The po­lice de­part­ment has re­leased no de­scrip­tions of the al­leged shoot­er or shoot­ers. A motive is not known.

A po­lice com­mand­er at the scene re­portedly told the news me­dia that video sur­veil­lance cam­er­as may have filmed three men, who fled on foot north­bound through an al­ley off of Hor­rocks Street. ••End­Frag­ment
