Reward posted in transgender murder

A $25,000 re­ward has been offered for in­form­a­tion lead­ing to an ar­rest and con­vic­tion in the murder of a trans­gender wo­man who was found dead in woods be­hind a North­wood store.

Kyra Cor­dova, 27, known to many as Kyra Kruz, was found shot to death shortly after 5 a.m. on Sept. 3 in woods on the 1100 block of Adams Ave. Po­lice said she had sus­tained a gun­shot wound to the head and was pro­nounced dead at the scene.

Po­lice be­lieve she was killed where her body was found. No one has been ar­res­ted in con­nec­tion with the crime.

The woods are be­hind a de­part­ment store in an area that is in North­wood, where that neigh­bor­hood ends and Ju­ni­ata be­gins. Frank­ford Av­en­ue is a few blocks to the east.

Friends and fam­ily said they didn’t know where Cor­dova was resid­ing at the time of her death.

The Cit­izens Crime Com­mis­sion is ad­min­is­ter­ing a $5,000 re­ward pos­ted by the Justice 4 Kyra Co­ali­tion and a $20,000 re­ward pos­ted by the city.
