Holme Circle to review senior apartments

Election of officers and discussion of a planned 44-unit senior apartment complex will highlight the agenda of the next Holme Circle Civic Association meeting on Nov. 28.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m., but will not be in its usual location. Due to a scheduling conflict, the meeting will be in the assembly hall in the basement of St. Jerome’s School, at Stamford and Colfax streets. Usually, the civic meeting is in the school library.

According to HCCA board member Joe Razler, the meeting is open to the public, but only dues-paying members in good standing will be permitted to vote in the election. Offices including president, vice president, treasurer, recording secretary and corresponding secretary will be decided. Nominations remain open.

In addition, the civic group will discuss the proposed conversion of Mount Nazareth, the local convent of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, into a 44-unit independent living apartment complex for seniors and military veterans. The facility is at 2723 Holme Ave.

Construction on a new, smaller convent for the Nazareth sisters is under way nearby, Razler said. ••
