Robber hits Citizens for some cash

Police rushed to the Mayfair tire-slasher’s old haunt on Friday to hunt for a bandit who robbed a local bank.

Authorities now seek the public’s help in identifying the Philadelphia pro sports fan who stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the Citizens Bank at 7327 Frankford Ave. shortly before 4 that afternoon.

The robber wore a Phillies sweat shirt and an Eagles cap as he approached a teller, presented a threatening demand note and fled with the loot, police said. He was last seen running eastbound on the 4000 block of Teesdale St. Coincidentally, that’s the same block where much of the recent automobile tire slashing occurred.

The robber was described as black, about 20 years old, 6 feet 1 inch tall and thin. He had a moustache and goatee. His Phillies sweat shirt was bright red and hat was predominantly black with a vintage Eagles logo on the front. He also wore sunglasses, blue jeans, dark shoes and a dark scarf that he pulled up to conceal his face during the heist.

Call police at 215–686-TIPS or send a text to “PPD TIP” (773847) to submit a tip.
