Moth­er of Di­vine Grace in Port Rich­mond is hold­ing its an­nu­al Itali­an Fest­iv­al May 31 and June 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9 on the school grounds. Open at 4:30 p.m. with Itali­an din­ners be­gin­ning in the school hall at 5 p.m. Food, games and a beer garden. Loc­ated at 2612 E. Mon­mouth St., at the corner of E. Cam­bria and E. Thompson streets. ••

PRCG Meet­ing

The Port Rich­mond Com­munity group (PRCG) will meet Thursday, May 24 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady Help of Chris­ti­ans church on Al­legheny Av­en­ue at Gaul Street.

Fishtown preschool

Re­gis­tra­tion for the up­com­ing school year will be on Tues­day May 22 and Wed­nes­day May 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fishtown Rec. cen­ter, 1202 E. Mont­gomery Ave.

Classes are held on Tues­days and Wed­nes­days from 9 a.m. to noon. All chil­dren must be able to at­tend to their own bath­room needs.

Angler Move­ment Stu­dio classes

Be­gin­ning June 2, Angler Move­ment Arts Cen­ter’s new pro­gram, Angler Move­ment Stu­dio, will of­fer classes in ba­sic move­ment for both adults and chil­dren. AMS will of­fer con­tinu­ous six-week ses­sions that can be paid for in ad­vance ($80), or any class can be taken on a per class basis for a drop in rate of $15. ••

NLNA Board elec­tions

The an­nu­al North­ern Liber­ties Neigh­bors As­so­ci­ation Board elec­tion will take place dur­ing the gen­er­al meet­ing on Thursday, May 31, 7 p.m. at the Com­munity Cen­ter on 3rd and Fair­mount streets. There will be vot­ing for pres­id­ent, treas­urer, and six at-large board seats. You must be re­gistered with the NLNA to vote in NLNA elec­tions. Vis­it nlna.org for more info. ••

Budget Sem­in­ar

Emanuel United Church of Christ, along with the Phil­adelphia Cred­it Uni­on, will of­fer a free sem­in­ar on budget­ing and cred­it on Sat­urday, June 9 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church. Emanuel UCC is loc­ated at 2628 Fill­more St. The sem­in­ar is free of charge and open to pub­lic. ••

Chief Taman­end Day at Penn Treaty Park

On May 26, from 11 a.m. to noon at Penn Treaty Park, loc­ated at Delaware Av­en­ue and Marl­bor­bugh Street, chil­dren, adults and fam­il­ies are in­vited to bring their bikes to the park, dec­or­ate them and ride paths in his­tor­ic Penn Treaty Park. ••

FJORD on Frank­ford Ave.

The space at 2419 Frank­ford Av­en­ue will be­come FJORD, a multi pur­pose art space. FJORD will con­tain work­space for up to eight artists, each with their own stu­dio space. On the ground floor an ex­hib­i­tion space will open to the pub­lic dur­ing First Fri­days. For event list­ings and more in­form­a­tion, check out FJORD on Face­book. ••

Kin­et­ic Sculp­ture Show

The Phil­adelphia Sculp­ture Gym will host a Kin­et­ic Sculp­ture Show dur­ing the month of June!  Kin­et­ic sculptors are in­vited to sub­mit work that has been used in a Kin­et­ic Sculp­ture Derby. The works will be dis­played (and could be offered for sale) dur­ing the month of June.  Sub­mis­sions are due May 23rd.

Ob­serve Me­mori­al Day

Me­mori­al Day ob­serv­ances will be held at Wash­ing­ton Square, the Korean War Me­mori­al, and the Phil­adelphia Vi­et­nam Vet­er­ans Me­mori­al.  The noon event at the Vi­et­nam Vet­er­ans Me­mori­al at Front and Spruce streets on Monday, May 28 will also serve as the ‘kick­off’ for the 25th an­niversary re-ded­ic­a­tion ce­re­mon­ies which will be held Oc­to­ber 27 and 28 at the me­mori­al.  ••

Me­mori­al Day Parade

The 2012 Port Rich­mond Me­mori­al Day Parade be­gins at 10 a.m. May 28 in front of St. Adal­bert’s R.C. Church on Al­legheny Av­en­ue. The parade con­cludes at Camp­bell Square Park with an of­fi­cial re­tir­ing of the Amer­ic­an flag in the me­mori­al garden at around 11:30 a.m. The Sounds of Liberty Barber­shop Chor­us will per­form, parade Grand Mar­shall Ray­mond Hatch­er of the United States Navy will be honored and The Friends of Camp­bell Square will be selling re­fresh­ments. ••
